Equality of opportunities
Gender Equality throughout Max Planck Society
It is the declared aim of the Max Planck Society to account for the differences and diversity of women and men in all its decisions and to prevent discrimination. The employment of equal numbers of both sexes and their equality of opportunities as well as the reconciliation of work and family life are promoted. Gender equality is the responsibility of all employees and especially those with managing and supervisory functions.
The Central Gender Equality Officer supports the Max Planck Society in the implementation and advancement of its gender equality objectives:
- It advises the different internal target groups – Institutes, management, Sections and office holders - in all matters relating to gender equality. In this regard, she is a permanent guest of the different central governing bodies of the Max Planck Society.
- It initiates gender equality measures and projects.
- It supports the Gender Equality Officers in the Institutes, facilities and Sections through the provision of information and trainings, as well as through the negotiation of the role, rights and obligations of the officers with decision-makers and governing bodies.
- It supports the internal and external communication regarding gender equality and represents the Max Planck Society externally in such matters.
